I once watched a video were a tiktoker was talking about women's true nature she gave an example about calypso, Tia dalma, women where never suppose to be kind and you know polite, it is only when you deserve it but our true nature was never that we where thought to not choose fury, and rage but we mentally are drawn to things like poison, witches, and serial documenties. I have never felt so seen and heard

As an introvert who has always been taught that being polite and quiet is best, this is a great reminder and I have slowly learned to express myself and to feel whatever I must feel.

Because what we feel is valid, women!

I am fucking crazy. But am I am free. (I believe in the person I want to become. I believe in the freedom of the open road. My mantra is the same as always-) Sorry, I had to. Really great post, I think it’s insane the amount of sanity we expect from people (women especially) oftentimes.

I feel calm and composed after reading this. It's like unraveling the silent layers of my character as a woman. People are often flabergasted when I peel off the character I garb upon my body and express myself openly. They say, 'I am becoming unruly and eccentric and that's not normal.' Sometimes, I find myself reprimanding the revealed character of mine that why I even tried to express myself as it is not normal. What's the definition of Normal!! Still ruminating over it. I just wanna go fucking crazy.

read this substack last night and just watched rihanna’s man down video and i feel after hearing your thoughts on this topic and media that represents it, the man down music video speaks so much more volume to me. the topic of suppressed female anger and retaliation against their assailants is always silenced and treated as a taboo. as women are in fact viewed as docile and weak, watching the music video and how the story is told i feel resonates with this piece so well

thank you for this! i’ve always struggled to articulate why i ‘relate’ to Pearl, I’m not a serial killer hahaha. but this perfectly encapsulates the cathartic release characters like her provide, in a world where i feel i can’t express strong emotions openly. amazingly worded <3

I love this. Once I allowed myself to be angry it's been so cathartic! Truly an instant relief.
